Huge help!

Our local extension service has a unit to rent. They have excellent support but I was so glad I had seen your blog first before I showed how stupid I can be in my later years.

With a past life in medical equipment marketing, I understand how engineers, that have never actually worked "in the field" and the lawyers, with NO practical knowledge, come up with practically worthless DFUs. (Directions for Use)

Now if I can just fogure out how to forward this to my extension agent.

Thanks Again - Jim Morris

Hi Gilly,

yep, this *is* a weird place to post that comment. :-)

the short answer to your questions are "i tried that, and it didn't really produce a whole lot so i dropped it back to the generic stuff you see now." it's funny, but those super-generic names don't really produce a lot of revenue when you put ads on them (and the ad-pages are so awfully annoying). about all i've got for you is the page at www.bar.com -- which tells a funny story about The Foo.

thanks for the post.

Hey, I know this comment is miscategorized but i was wondering (and no i dont sell ads online) but, why don't you put ads on those domains that your sitting on, like on place.com or pub.com? They would probably generate a nice bit of recurring monthly cash for you. I was just wondering.

Also, for Pub.com, why not make it a worldwide directory of pubs? You've probably already thought of this but really, I mean, I would use it. Simply enter your country and then your zip code and voila you get a list of pubs in that area. You can then charge certain pubs to be listed as 'featured' pubs". People can also then write reviews so people will know which Pubs to stay away from. Maybe the bouncer at one is too pushy or the drinks suck. I would love to know these things before going.

Anyhoot, i was really just wondering about the ad part.

Would be lovely to get a response from you. Also, because of how funny your generic page is, I will be posting it to reddit.com to KARMA whore a lil bit. Hope you don't mind.

Do you still have your truax seeder?
We need one. Used preferable.

Hi Bill,

We rented the seed drill from the local DNR office here in Alma, WI. You might check around in your area and see if there's a similar deal available.

Hello Mark and Marcie, I really, really appreciate the info on the seed drill. I work for Santa Clara County Parks and we use the seed drill for restoring California's native grasses in our parks. We don't use the seed drill very often and the heavy equipment driver who last used it has retired so a bunch of us were standing around scratching our heads for an hour or so. We finally figured it out, but I have printed out a copy of your pictures and directions so that next time, someone will have a decent set of directions and can get to work a whole lot faster. I suspect that the writer of the Truax manual may also write software manuals. Its no help at all! Thanks again and I also enjoyed Marcie's posting as well.
