Got a good idea about how communities could prepare to become more disaster-resistant?  This is the place we´ll put `em. 

One note.  No commercial stuff.  If you have an idea or a product that you are willing to give away, great.  But if you are looking to promote something that you´re wanting to get paid for, this ain´t the spot. 

Here´s an example.  I´ve been a radio type person for longer than I care to admit and I´ve been hunting around for something that individuals to use as a neighborhood-scale communications alternative if the phones went down for a while.  I rejected CB radio because it´s too crowded, and HAM radio because it´s too hard for the average person to get a license.  The new Family Radio Service (FRS) radios are Just Right in my opinion.  Here´s a little slide show that explains why, and lays out a proposal for how a city could leverage its emergency communications systems.
