Project 1; Twill Weaves in Double Weave
In my books on double weave, plain weave has been the weave structure in all the layers. Other weave structures can be used, and this first example uses twill as the alternate structure. In order to have two layers of twill structure in double weave, an 8-shaft loom is the minimum requirement. Here is a study that shows color and weave effects of the window design. Plain weave structure is used for the background and twill weave structure for the window.
